Safe H2O

Water Tank Cleaning: A Comparison of Traditional vs. Our Innovative Method

When it comes to cleaning your water tank, Safe H2O cleans differently than the traditional approach.

The traditional method typically involves emptying the tank, having a technician climb inside to scrub and water blast the interior surfaces, and then leaving you with a clean—but empty—tank.

While this method gets the tank looking clean, it introduces a few risks, such as potential structural damage to the tank and the possibility of reintroducing bacteria from human contact.

Additionally, it results in the loss of your water supply, meaning you’ll have to purchase and fill the tank with fresh water afterward.

At Safe H2O, we’ve developed a more advanced, efficient, and environmentally friendly method of tank cleaning.

Instead of emptying the tank and sending someone inside, we use cutting-edge technology that keeps your tank intact, and both purifies and preserves your water.

Our approach involves vacuuming, filtering, and treating the water with an antibacterial solution, ensuring a clean tank and safe water, all while minimising waste and cost.

Our Water Tank Cleaning Process:

Vacuuming: We start by vacuuming the tank with a heavy-duty pump, removing sediment and debris without needing to drain the water or have anyone enter the tank.

Three-Stage Filtration: Next, we filter the remaining water through three stages: a 25-micron filter, a 1-micron filter, and a nano filter (0.001 microns) to capture even the finest particles and bacteria, ensuring your water is purified to the highest standards.

Antibacterial Treatment: A small dose of food-grade hydrogen peroxide is added to neutralise any lingering bacteria, especially in the lines that feed the water into your property that no-one can access to clean, ensuring your water is safe and free from harmful contaminants.

Why Our Method is Better:

Safer and No Risk of Structural Damage: Traditional cleaning methods often require a technician to climb inside the tank. This physical entry can put strain on the tank’s structure, leading to potential long-term damage and the introduction of new bacteria.

There is also a health and safety risk working inside confined spaces. Whereas, we clean without entering the tank, using a powerful vacuum that removes debris from the base without compromising the tank’s integrity.

Purifying and preserving Your Water: A key downside to traditional cleaning is that the entire water supply is emptied during the process. After the tank is mucked out, you’re left with an empty tank, forcing you to purchase replacement water.

In contrast, we take a more sustainable approach by filtering and purifying the remaining water and then returning it to the tank. A minimum of water is used, saving you money and reducing environmental impact.

To date, with our cleaning process we have saved over 371,496,000 million litres of water for our customers and nearly $12 million customers on replacement water costs! For more information, check out our Savings Page.

Advanced Nanofiltration for Cleaner Water: Traditional cleaning methods rely on emptying the tank or only vacuuming the sediment from the bottom.

At Safe H2O, we use a three-stage filtration process, including nano filtration at 0.001 microns, which removes everything from fine sediment to bacteria while the water is still in the tank. This purifies the water for use after the cleaning process is complete.

Safe Antibacterial Treatment: Traditional cleaning can involve harsh chemicals like chlorine or bleach to disinfect the tank. These chemicals can leave behind residues in the water, affecting its taste and your septic system.

Our method uses food-grade hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as an antibacterial treatment. H2O2 breaks down into harmless water and oxygen after neutralising bacteria, leaving no dangerous by-products and ensuring that your water is safe and tasteless.

Importantly, there is no residue harmful to the bacteria in your septic system.

Why Choose Us?

Safer and better for your tank: Our method protects your tank’s integrity and safety by avoiding physical entry and requires no confined space work.
