Autumn Alert: Why Now is the Perfect Time to Clean Your Water Tank

As the autumn leaves are about to fall and winter sets in, it’s the perfect time to shift our focus to essential home maintenance.

One often-overlooked aspect is the cleanliness of our water tanks.

While it may seem unusual to address this during the colder months, tackling it now can save you from potential hassles when the summer heat arrives.

If you have already had your tank cleaned in the past few months, that’s fantastic and we recommend you have them done again a year on from when they were last cleaned.

If you haven’t, please look at booking in with us during the cooler months.

We are usually inundated leading up to and including the Christmas/New Year period and therefore there can be a delay in getting to some homes/baches.

To avoid this, we highly recommend booking earlier, during the Autumn and Winter months.

Here are a few compelling reasons to schedule your water tank cleaning this autumn/winter:

  • Limited Water Supply in Summer: Summer is notorious for water shortages. Getting your water tank cleaned now ensures that going into the drier months you have both full and clean tanks when you need it the most. Don’t wait until the taps run dry – take proactive steps this season.
  • Cleaner tanks when top ups needed: Another advantage of cleaning tanks in the cooler months is that you enter the drier months with a clean tank. If we have a dry summer and you need a water delivery, filling a dirty tank will stir up this sediment build up, making the newly delivered water initially discoloured, unusable and unsafe. With a clean tank going into summer, water refills are a breeze as there will be no sediment to disturb and discolour the water
  • Summer Brings Smelly Water: In the warmer days of summer smelly water can become a prevalent issue. The higher temperatures create an optimal environment for bacterial growth, leading to unpleasant odours and taste. Addressing this issue now by cleaning out the sediment in the water tank will make fresh and odour-free water more likely when you turn on the taps later, especially during the warmer months.
  • Year-End Busy Period: Life tends to get busy, so scheduling your water tank cleaning in autumn or winter ensures that you’re ahead of the game. Don’t wait until summer when everyone is scrambling for maintenance services, risking potential delays in getting the job done.
  • Holidays, Christmas, and New Year: With reduced time and days available to be able to clean your tanks, scheduling your water tank cleaning before will ensure your water supply is in top-notch condition before your house is full of guests for the festive season.
  • Preventive Maintenance Pays Off: Regular cleaning and maintenance of your water tank are key to ensuring a healthy water supply. By addressing potential issues early, you avoid more significant problems down the line. It’s a small investment now for a more significant payoff in the long run.

Ensure your water quality remains consistently high, even during peak times.

Don’t wait until summer to prioritise your tank cleaning needs.

Contact us today to take advantage of the quieter autumn and winter seasons to proactively maintain a clean and reliable water supply, ensuring peace of mind throughout the year.

We also recommend changing your filters every 6 months and we can provide these replacements for you.

We also offer Filtration Systems – if this is of interest, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
